Turtles

11/7/09
As part of Hannah's homeschooling, we are focusing on a different aspect of God's creation each week. This week we were learning about turtles, so we decided to make some by painting some paper plates to use for their shells. Thanks goodness for washable paints!

What a messy boy! He loved every minute of it, too!

The finished product. Great work, kids!

Marshmallow Boy

I think that Zach just looks so adorable when he has all of his winter gear on. The poor kid can hardly move with all of those layers, but he doesn't seem to mind. He loves to play out in the snow as long as he doesn't get any on his hands.

Homemade

10/31/09
I decided to make Hannah and Ellie's halloween costumes this year, and I actually think they turned out to be very cute! They loved being cupcakes, but were a little afraid that people might try to eat them. While trick-or-treating, they kept telling people that they shouldn't eat them.

Zach was a cowboy. He looked pretty cute in his cowboy hat!We went trick-or-treating with our friends, Paige and Alaina.

After a while, Zach and I came back to the house to pass out candy. He was in such a goofy mood...I just had to post these pictures!

Carving Pumpkins

10/31/09
We had a lot of fun carving pumpkins with the kids this year! We like to draw different shapes on a paper, and the kids choose which shapes they want for their eyes, nose, etc. Here are a few pictures of the kids choosing the faces for their pumpkins.

Hannah doesn't like to reach into the pumpkin, but Ellie wanted to give it a try.

Zach even got to carve a pumpkin!
Ellie's finished product!

Bloomsbury Farms

10/7/09
One of our favorite places to go in the fall is Bloomsbury Farms. They have so many fun activities for the kids!
They have a huge jumping pillow at Bloomsbury Farms. I think the kids could have jumped for hours!

They also have some farm animals. I think the kids liked the goats and the cows the best.

Cainan

10/5/09
Introducing our newest nephew...Cainan Bartlett!
What a sweet boy! We are so excited to have a new cousin in the family! We love you, Cainan!

First Snow

9/27/09
We had our first snow today, so the kids wanted to go outside to play in it.
They decided that they needed to clean everything outside, so they dusted the slide, swings, and sandbox. They also liked to "make tracks" in the snow and follow their footprints.

Applesauce

9/25/09
The kids helped me make applesauce this year, and they actually HELPED! I was so proud of these kids. They helped me for several hours, and I never had to relieve them of their jobs. I basically spent the day cutting and boiling the apples while they turned the crank and mashed the apples into the Squeezo Strainer. Zach thought he was helping, too. I gave him a spoon, and he stirred the applesauce once it was in the bowl.

Thanks for the help, kids!

Niabi Zoo

9/6/09
We decided to take the kids to the Niabe Zoo for the day, and we had a great time!
We spent a lot of time at the swan/duck area. The kids were so excited, and a little afraid, to feed them. They spent a lot of time trying to get up the courage to let the swans eat out of their hands.

This turtle was close to the edge of the cage, so the kids got to pet it. The were a bit nervous at first, but didn't want to leave after they started petting it!

First Day of School

9/16/09
Hannah is taking some classes through the Marion Home School Assistance Program, and today is her first day of class! She is taking some unit studies and a gym and swim class. I just can't believe my baby is old enough to take kindergarten classes!
