Late Night with Ellie

6/20/09
As many of you know, Ellie does not need very much sleep. (I don't know who she gets that from!:) )  There are quite a few nights that we let her stay up later than the other kids.  I have grown to really enjoy these nights...sometimes she dances around like crazy, and sometimes she plays quietly by herself.  Tonight she had been downstairs by herself for a very long time, and this is what I found when I went down to check on her.
I love to see her imagination in action!  She loves to be the mom and takes very good care of her "honeys."

Dressing Up

6/8/09
Sometimes the girls like to get dressed up and have me take pictures of them.  They spent such a long time "getting ready" and putting all of the layers on!  I think it's pretty funny, and I can't help but humor them with their little fashion show!  Aren't they beautiful!
Where's Ellie!?!?

Oklahoma

6/5/09
The girls and I took a trip to Oklahoma to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday!  It was so much fun to see my mom's side of the family!  The kids LOVED playing outside at Great Grandpa and Grandma's house!  Unfortunately, I didn't get very many pictures, but here are a few.

Squire Point

5/30/09
It was such a beautiful day today, so we decided to take the kids for a hike at Squire Point.  We had such a great time exploring!
Ellie loved picking up sticks!  She was so amazed every time we found one (which happened about every step of the hike).  It is so much fun to see her be so excited about such a simple thing.Zach was all smiles the whole way.  He is always such a joy!Hannah and Ellie were brave got close to the waterfall.  These girls are getting so big!
Hannah thought it was so much fun to touch the water.
I love this picture!  The girls liked throwing sticks into the water and watching them flow down the stream.
Hannah and Ellie racing across the bridge.

Rock Collection

5/29/09
I let the girls play with my old rock collection today.  They were so fascinated with it and were both very excited to play with something that I had when I was a little girl.  I love all of these pictures because I think they capture a sense of wonder and excitement on their faces.

Cousins and Cattails

5/28/09
Aunt Becky and Boaz came to visit today.  I got to play with the kids downstairs most of the day while Becky painted in Zach's room.  It was so much fun to watch Zach and Boaz actually play together!
All of the kids played at their table for a long time.  I think the boys thought they were pretty big stuff when they climbed on the chairs to play with the big kids!

I am so excited about Zach's "pond" room.  Becky did such a great job painting these cattails for me!  (Thanks, Becky!)  I could never have done it myself!  Now I can't wait to finish everything else for his room!

Blastball!

5/27/09
Hannah started Blastball (t-ball for 4-5 year olds)!  She had been so excited about blastball all day long, but once we got there, she was much more excited about her pretty pink baseball glove!  (Rookie mistake:  I should not have given her the glove for the first time right before we left to drive to the blastball park!)

These pictures make it look like she is actually paying attention to the ball and preparing to stop a ground ball.  Don't be fooled!  She spent the whole time in the outfield either playing in the sand or chewing the strings on her new glove!

When it was her turn to bat, she did not want to put down the pink glove!  This coach FINALLY convinced her to put the glove down, but she still didn't wouldn't bat by herself...I think she was punishing him for making her take her glove off!  Oh well, we still had fun.  I guess this is a learning experience for all of us!

Minnesota

5/24/04
We spent the long weekend in Minnesota with Greg's family.  The weather was so beautiful, so we got to enjoy a lot of fun outdoor activities.
Joshua and Ryan have a trampoline, and the kids absolutely LOVED it!  Zach just laughed the entire time and didn't want to get off.
Ahhhh...roasting marshmallows over a campfire!  It doesn't get much better than that!

As you can see, the girls had a blast playing in the sand at Grandma and Grandpa's house!  They definitely needed baths that night!

Grandpa Roland also took us out on a boat ride!  The kids were so excited!  They thought it was quite hilarious that Jasper got to ride along with us.

Photo Shoot

5/20/09
I decided to take some fun pictures of Zachary today.  I know I should have done this closer to his one year birthday...oh well, it was still a lot of fun!

This boy has such a contagious smile!

Look at that tummy!
