Christmas with the Everly's

1/2/10
The Everly's stopped by on their way back from Florida this year. The kids LOVE their cousins, and they were so excited to get to have "another Christmas".
We tried pretty hard to get everyone in the picture, but Zach had other plans...you can tell he's trying to escape, but at least he's in the picture!
Zach got a fire truck. I just love these pictures! He was so excited!

Hannah and Ellie got stuffed animals and a badminton set.

Bowling

1/1/10
We went bowling with the Safly's on new Year's Day. It was so much fun to watch the kids' excitement every time they bowled!
Notice Ellie's feet are off the ground!
We had plenty of time to watch the ball each time Ellie bowled. She basically just dropped the ball when she got to the lane, so it didn't go very fast at all. Most of the time the ball was so slow that we weren't sure if it was going to make it to the end. It didn't matter, though, she was so proud of herself each time.

Hannah was so excited each time she bowled, too. She usually cheered the whole way as she watched the ball roll down the lane.
Both girls were so strong! They didn't want us to help them carry their balls at all!

I love the look of anticipation on her face!
Way to go, Hannah!

Zach go to bowl a few frames, too. As he watched the ball, he kept pushing his hand forward saying "Go, Go, Go!" I think he actually thought he was pushing the ball down the lane!

Tea Party

12/30/09
Hannah and Ellie have been wanting to have a tea party for a few months. I think they asked me about it every day. I kept telling them that we would have one after Christmas sometime. (I had to wait until they opened their tea sets for Christmas!) Anyway, tonight was the big night! The girls helped me plan everything about the evening. They wanted to get dressed up, wear make-up, paint fingernails, and eat a fun supper. Of course, they don't like tea, so we really had a punch party! Hannah even made Zach and Daddy stay in the basement for the evening because "boys don't go to tea parties!"
Don't they look beautiful! Hannah, Ellie, Ally, Lauren, and Aubrey
I just love this picture. Hannah was so excited, she could hardly contain herself!

Doesn't Ellie look so proper!?!

Swim Lessons

12/28/09
Hannah an Ellie got to take swim lessons from Amy Gilbaugh again over the Christmas break. They both really love the water. Hannah can keep herself up pretty well by doggie paddling, but we can't get her to put her face in the water while she is swimming. Once she gets past that obstacle, I think she will learn pretty quickly.

Ellie is our stubborn, independent child, and she thinks she can swim all on her own. The only problem with that is that she can't swim. I love that she has no fear, but it definitely makes for one nervous mommy when we are anywhere near water! She can be flailing around under the water, not able to get up, and when Amy pulls her up, she is grinning from ear to ear. NO FEAR! I guess we really need to keep up these lessons to give me a little peace of mind!
